Curry night :-)
I weighed myself this morning and saw results.. finally (I say finally I have only been doing the plan properly since 31st July) 3.5lbs loss :-)
I am looking to lose 20lbs minimum.
Today I started the day with a fruit smoothie made with a little greek yogurt, almond milk and some chia, flax and beetroot powder.
Lunch was some tomato and pepper with baked chevre goats cheese and 2 poached eggs. Lush! I smoothed some of the goats cheese on a spelt cracker and put tomato on, gorgeous!
For dinner I made a chicken curry, the sauce split a little as the other half was late home from work and it had been cooking for too long. Alongside I made red lentil dal, saffron basmati rice, onion and cucumber raita with cucumber and tomato.
Yum yum, but im very full now, was a little jealous of the other halfs naan bread to dip in the dal.

More milk shakes :-)
I have had another fairly successful day, I went through my measurements again earlier and I appear to have lost 2 inches from my body already, mainly from my waist which is good and for me the first place it always goes from, then the bust, hips and legs very last.
Breakfast was 2 fried eggs and a piece of spelt cracker/bread. - I was looking very longingly at the other half's addition of crusty bread and beans :-(. Along with this I had a smoothies of strawberries, KoKo coconut milk and some frozen fruit, with a tsp of Beetroot powder and a tsp of chia and flax.
Breakfast was at about 10.30, we went out and by about 2.30 I was starving, we went to M&S food, so the other half had my favourite beef and onion mayo sub sandwich and a packet of handcooked crisps. It was very limited what I could even have, I had a tiny packet of sushi (6 small pieces) and 2 tiny skewers with teriyaki chicken on, maybe not ideal but the best of a bad bunch as there's no way I would have been about to eat around pasta or potatoes.
Dinner was an absolute car crash, I did slow cooked lamb and veg and it looked great but I thought id be clever and attempt some dumplings made of rice flour. I added a little bicarb of soda as these usually call for self raising flour, they looked good. I plopped them into the lamb and juice and they started fizzing, within minutes they had thickened the sauce and were unrecognisable as dumplings, all in all a disaster. It tasted ok but the lamb was a little dry, the highlight was my homemade mint sauce made with fresh mint, a little vinegar and some beetroot powder to sweeten.
If anyone reading this has any hints and tips or would like any ideas that I could offer post a comment

A detox day at work
Another successful..ish detox day, this time at work
I was very good, I started the day earlier than normal and sat down to scrambled eggs and a banana milkshake with coconut milk, a tsp of chia and flax and a tsp of beetroot powder.. delicious!
This may sound a lot but on Saturdays I am on my feet all day and I don't take lunch until 2.30, I am usually starving by 12pm though!
Success I didn't get hungry until about 2pm :-) I had my lunch at about that time, Fruit salad which consisted of blueberries, kiwi, peach and nectarine. I also packed a greek salad with tomato, cucumber, green pepper, feta and lemon and salt&pepper, again it was very nice, but I couldn't help but think a sandwich and a bag of crisps would have been more enjoyable.
Dinner was wheat free pasta and homemade bolognaise sauce with one spelt cracker and a dollop of my homemade aioli.
For a snack I split a 9 bar with my partner and had a smoothie which consisted of coconut milk, mango, strawberries, pineapple, melon and orange - YUM! :-D
Hoping for some sort of weight loss my Monday, but to be honest that's not really the point of detox but it would be a nice little bonus!

A successful detox day
Whoopee! I did well today.. I think!
I started the day with a mango
Most of my day has been spent cleaning, tidying and walking into town to collect shopping.
Lunch was tuna with my home made aioli and cucumber, lettuce & tomato.
For an afternoon snack I had a peach, I also made myself a smoothie from coconut milk, flax and chia seeds, strawberries and a scoop of beetroot powder. I bought the beetroot powder today and its really nice and sweet, love it!
Dinner was butternut squash and cauliflower soup with a hint of chilli, again it was very nice! I started by roasting everything except for the cauliflower.
I had a trip to Holland and Barrett earlier as soup is nothing without a little something to dip in it. Anyway on juice plus I read that you can have spelt, so when I came across some spelt crackers I just had to have them! They do come with quite a price tag though, £2.99 for 6!
I spread a little butter on 2 of them and they were nice if not a little overly crunchy. :-)
For a snack I have just shared another of the above smoothies with my other half as I really liked it!
Off the subject of eating I got my 1 month trial of capsules and milkshake powder yesterday, so I may carry on with my detox until next Friday or the Monday after perhaps, depends on how well I do..
I am looking forward to starting the supplements as I have heard good things, my friend who is taking them has said she has so much more energy than she did prior to using the supplements, she has said after taking it for 2 weeks is when she starting feeling better, fingers crossed this works out. and technically its not a diet, its a lifestyle as all im doing is eating cleaner, im not counting calories or completely cutting out carbs or fat.

Not quite a detox day
Today started really well with some banana pancakes, basically a banana omelette, they were rather good though considering there was no flour to give weight to them.
All I did was mashed 1 banana and mixed it into to 2 eggs, left to settle for 5 minutes and then cooked in a frying pan with a little spray oil.
Lunch consisted of tuna mixed with a little homemade mayonnaise, again very delicious!!
I went out in the afternoon and did have a cup of tea and a piece of coffee cake (of which I had half and brought the rest home for my other half.)
For dinner I made bolognaise, just steak mince, onion, fresh tomatoes, tinned tomatoes, oregano, parsley and tomato puree and served this with a small amount of gluten free pasta, I then mixed a little homemade garlic mayonnaise in to give a bit more flavour, it was gorgeous, but I'm still hungry...! best h

Diet what diet?
So today has been a naughty day and I am hoping for a better one tomorrow, but I am not sure.
I have avoided caffeine, yay go me.. but I succumb to a glass of wine, a tuna baked potato, custard tart.. you name it I ate it, Oops! Oh well cant do anything about that now.
It was my last day at my job that I have been in for the last 4 years so I think I deserved a glass of wine and some naughty nibbles throughout the day. I did all of these little things in moderation and didn't stuff myself by any stretch of the imagination so its not so bad!
As always what's great about dieting is being a little more inventive in the kitchen, bringing a passion for cooking back.
Yesterdays dinner of Chilli Halloumi, Roast carrot and parsnip, cucumber ribbons and coleslaw made with homemade aioli.
Tonights dinner consisted of Duck breast, spiralized cucumber, rice noodle and spring onion stir fry with a fried egg on top - delicious!
So your probably thinking this doesn't sound very diety? I am trying to follow juice plus and the main thing it restricts is potato, wheat and milk.
Tomorrow should be a healthier day, however I will be out during the afternoon and I imagine the company I am keeping will be wanting cake.. must stay strong!

And so it begins..Again
Its summer and I am feeling porkie, time to lose some weight I feel!
I am changing the plan yet again, so this time I am trying Juice Plus.
The initial phase will be detox, which I started today, for me this means no wheat, potato, fizzy drinks, just natural eating (mostly).
So here it is
Breakfast - Kiwi and grapes
Snack - Greek Yogurt
Lunch - Tuna, brown rice, tomato, spring onion
Snack - Veg sticks and homemade hummus
Dinner - Leek, carrot and celery soup. Onion, Tomato and feta omelette with roast aubergine, courgette and sweet potato chips.
Snack - peach
So far it doesn't feel like detox food but I have struggled with no caffeine, just water - (3+ litres) BANGING head all day, hope tomorrow is easier in that sense.
Watch this space :-)
