Day 24 - PP

Yesterdays weight: 73.4kg

Todays weight: 73.6kg

Breakfast: not a weekend thing

Lunch: 2 boiled eggs with salad cream  light

Dinner: 2 chicken breasts with paprika and cayenne pepper barbequey seasoning with a small amount of
passatta and low fat sour cream and a baby bel grated over it.

Summary: well those laughing cow extra lights are no laughing matter, had a go,could not go through with it though, they are such an odd texture and taste powdery, maybe ill try them in something next time. Had my mum take a few photos of me today, starting to look a little better, well in comparison to the photos I made her take of me before going on holiday

In other news I had a call back from a local cafe owner who is willing to sell my wheat free cakes, so I am starting another blog, the gluten free bakery to go alongside this one.

March 2011

August 2011

I have also noticed my face looks slimmer too, carb face gone

Sunday 28 August 2011

Day 23 - PV

Yesterdays weight: 73.8kg

Todays weight: 73.4kg at 7.30, then I woke up again at 2pm and was 73kg..things are happening, bit annoyed of wasting the day however.

Breakfast:

Lunch: Smoked Tuna mixed with a little light mayo and a light babybel grated on top. beetroot which was marinaded in chilli, a tomato.

Dinner: I marinaded some chicken in basil, mint and parsely which i wizzed with some low fat yogurt and a little tsp of oil. then baked the chicken thighs. I made a coleslaw by finely chopping 1 carrot, 1 small celeriac and some radishes (I added a red onion at the end so as not to turn everything purple) then i mixed with 4 tablespoons of low fat plain yogurt and 2 teaspoons of light mayo and half a teaspoon of dijon mustard and a squeeze of lemon juice.

I served the chicken with the coleslaw and this should probably count as a celebration meal, I chopped 4 thin slices of reduced fat halloumi and fried that in a teaspoon of olive oil, possibly could have used a little less. Although the meal was nice i would have preffered the cheese with a more spicy tomatoey chicken perhaps in a harissa sauce.

The slaw before I added the onion

Fried Halloumi - my favorite!!

The complete meal, was very filling but tasty

snacks: cup of earl gey tea with skim milk no sugar

Summary: well, quite a positive weekend, the weight is going in the right direction. I want to lose as much as I can now, as although im hoping I dont fall of the wagon in liverpool I dont think everywhere I go there will be the options plus I would really like a drink or two. Went to tescos today, oh my god the place was packed, night mare shopping on a sunday. I went at dinner time hoping people would be at home eating sunday roasts evidently not. Got some of the slightly naughty coconut yogurts for treat times. I also ot laughing cow extra light, now I have a bad feeling about this and perhaps light was light enough.. has anyone tried this?

Saturday 27 August 2011

Day 22 - PP

yesterdays weight: 73.9kg lbs

Todays Weight: 73.8kg at my 7.30 weigh in then 73.3 after the loo a bit later ;-)

Breakfast: slept in big style

Lunch: 2 slices of extra lean corned beef and a laughing cow light, skinny frappe again the same girl and I dont think it was skinny, was too enthralled by the fit guy behind the counter to care though

Dinner: I made the other trout into fish cakes,
I took the meat from the fish, added 1 tbsp of red curry paste, a handful of parsely as I cant stand the flavour of cilantro. a small chunk of ginger and a tsp of veg oil and whizzed it into a paste then added 2 tbsps of oatbran. I made these into burgers and added a little oil to fry

Snacks: I have baked a chocca mocha caramel cake, and yes I had a  wee spoon lick.. uhh ohh! the things you do without even realising until its too late! a low fat yogurt and a teaspoon of the cake.WOW it was gorgeous!!

Summary: another weekend in, will hopefully get to the gym but wouldnt have minded going out for a dance, just not great at avoiding drinks whilst out, otherwise i tend to bore very easily.

Friday 26 August 2011

Day 21 - PV

Yesterdays weight: 74.6kg

Todays Weight: 73.9 Ohhh Yess!! i dont even care if it goes up a little tomorrow as it has been reached, so there :-)

Breakfast: porridge with the cocoa, 2 sausages and a fried egg

Lunch: 1 baby  bel light, 1 pepperami, a prawn salad with a little sauce, the whole salad read 80 calories and
less than 3g of carbs so I thought GET IN!

Dinner: What a palava! I baked a whole trout with lemon and rosemary and parsely. Well I tell you now I am not skilled with de boning and I could of sat there for hours picking out the smaller ones. so with the other baked trout the food processer is going to play a part in hopefully making a fishcake of sorts. I had the fish with some cauliflower cous couse, it didnt look ricey enough, and some grated celery and a dollop of beetroot and onion pickle.

wack in the oven

And voila, dogs dinner :-*)
Snacks: 100g cocontut yogurt which is not advertised as low fat but I have compared the fat and carb content to some of my lower fat ones and there is small difference between them, I added a little cocoa powder, heavenly bounty fix yogurt!

Summary: So two suprises today, TOM and 73.9 on the scales, the first wasnt exactly a suprise but I am suprised that I am weighing less despite this fact. who knows maybe a little less in a week once this is over. Quite a good day, went for a drink after work and had a diet coke, my gym buddy cancelled on me so stupidly I also avoided the gym, however I did go shopping after the pub with a considerable amount of bags and walk home with even more, i call that a work out.. dont you?

Thursday 25 August 2011

Day 20 - PP

yesterdays weight: 74kg lbs

Todays Weight: 74.6kg lbs no 73, well, I refuse to believe my scales work and will be extra good day and hope for good things tomorrow, fingers well and truly crossed. I have looked at my chart and i have literally fluctuated between this weight and 74 for the past 10 days or so.. would like to do a little better, so no more slip ups

Breakfast: oatbran porridge with highlights hot choc powder and skim milk

Lunch: I am off to the hairdressers after work so leaving a little early, which means I will cut lunch short and only be able to eat what I bring with me, I am bringing chicken kebabs, 1 babybel light and a vanilla yogurt, looks like a little picnic! there was some red pepper on the chicken kebabs and being a piggy i scoffed the lot :-)

Dinner: 3 low fat sausages which looked so vile and my eggs broke so was very upset with dinner, no photo ;-) ugly food somehow doesnt taste as good. especially the sausages which split and the skin wouldnt come of but wouldnt stay on, seriously its awful but I honestly wanted to have a little tantrum!

Snacks:

Summary: what a poo day, roll on tomorrow, on the plus side atleast I had my hair done so thats good.

Wednesday 24 August 2011

Day 19 PV

yesterdays weight: 74.1kg lbs

Todays Weight: 74kg lbs come on 73.?? come on!!

Breakfast: oatbran porridge with skim milk and low sugar cocoa

Lunch: superfood salad with get this.. lovely green crunchy bits and when I looked at the pack all was revealed.. brocolli stalk the part that if im honest i sometimes waste. I put some low fat cottage cheese in and some ham and it was lovely, I did not use the pommegranate and orange dressing either, impressed with myself there! however on the naughty side there was a spinkling of edamame and pumpkin seeds and it was heaven in my salad.

Dinner: Swamp soup (spinach and mushroom) to start

then salad and smoked mackerel - okay its not really cooking, its just chucking things together but heres a photo anyway!

Snacks: someone offered me one of those naturals snake gummy sweets and shamefully I ate two, ahh well. Now I wont be too shocked if Im not seeing the right scores on the doors tomorrow. vanilla yogurt, and light babybel

Summary: I have just finished my dinner and somehow I really want a snack, perhaps I will have some sliced ham later, no gym today or tomorrow as I am getting my hair done, specially for dolly..well not for her exactly, for the sake of going out and feeling good!

Tuesday 23 August 2011

Day 18 Cruising PP

yesterdays weight: 74.6kg lbs

Todays Weight: 74.1kg lbs

Breakfast: oatbran with skimmed milk and 40 calorie cocoa

Lunch: 1 pack sliced chicken, a light babybel, 1 pepperami

Dinner: 4 teriyaki beef kebabs

Snacks: 1 low fat low carb vanilla yogurt

Summary: I have been to the gym, 500 calories and weights, I have been going very slow, i used to feel the need to burn 1000 calories but since I am restricting carbs etc I am not so strict with working out and I am not going anywhere near as much I have in the past, suprisingly I would go almost everyday for a hard workout and see very minimal results at the end of it, hopefully slow and steady is the way to go!! I am really wanting to see 73.?? soon enough on the scales...comeee onnnn!!

Realisation..just remembered I had a skinny frappe although I do believe I saw the girl who served me using the blue top milk.........:-( I would normally have said something but she was just so rude to start with I did not have the time

Monday 22 August 2011

Day 17 - PV Cruising.. still

More...yesterdays weight: 74.2kg lbs
Todays Weight: 74.6kg lbs Nooo!
Breakfast: oatbran with 1% fat milk and a tablespoon of highlights hot chocolate, maybe less next time it tastes more salty than chocolatey if im honest!
Lunch: mattersons twisted tails, hog roast flavour was utterly manky and I wont be going there again! I got a salad from the sandwich shop, lettuce, cucumber, egg, pepper, tomato, again a few half olives and a sprinkling of feta, and a pack or pork loin slices on top,,, yummy!
Dinner: My mum made roast chicken, and I made a mushroon gravy to accompany, it was good!! I had roast beetroot and my spiraliser arrived today so i had some carrot spirals too, was lush with the gravy and the crunch ;-)
Snacks: very bad I know. Yesterday I made a gluten free, dairy free orange and almond cake, infact I made 3.. miniature cakes that is, they are about the size of a saucer and i had 1/6 of one..it was soo good!
Summary: I feel really let down by eating that cake, and im trying to rationalise that I have consumed much less calories than I was consuming each day before this diet, and it's not like I went on a mental binge, but I still feel I have failed. I hope this does not affect the next few days, i want to pick up where I left off and have no more slip ups, this week atleast.
I am going to see dolly, yes it is a sad dream of mine to see the queen of country live. so I am sure that I will have a drink then and I will have to be extra strict now for whatever slip ups occur during that couple of days spent in liverpool... Looking forward to decent shops, we currently have choice of about 8-9 clothing stores here..

Here is the yummy orange cake, which will be great for the stableization phase, oviously I am never thinking of overdoing it, but I feel this cake is a treat and will be a treat and is only 250cals per slice and is low on sugar and carbs in comparison to other cakes, and it only used 4 ingredients.

Sunday 21 August 2011

Dinner:  2 oatbran coated chicken escalopes with lots of spices and 1 tbsp low salt and sugar

Snacks: skinny frappe

Summary: tried on some clothes and they are feeling looser, done some measurements and I have lost a few inches :-) The most important thing in this really. lost almost 3 inches from my waist which for 2 weeks of not too hard work is a good result! Happy days!

Saturday 20 August 2011

Summary: So the cottage pie went down a treat, walked around town so theres the exercise for the day, hope for more loss going forward, id like to lose a lb a week. went to the scales in boots for today for my weekly official reading, they were broken..boo! It wasn't me ;-)

Friday 19 August 2011

yesterdays weight: 74.6kg lbs

Todays Weight: 74.5kg lbs 100g of weight loss this week, finally..its pretty shocking really so I need to assess where i’m going wrong!

Breakfast: bowl of oatbran porridge with tsp of cocoa pwder and 1% fat milk, we ordered in from work, 2 fried eggs and two sausages so I wont be suprised if the scales are reading high the next few days :-(

Lunch: I have made some chicken nuggets to bring to work with ketchup and unlike yesterdays omelette quiche my dad did not decide they look nice, I’ll have them. but they are scrummy, I did have to hide them in the fridge :-)

Dinner: I have my katsu curry left, although today is no veg day, I cant have the apsaragus and I shall have to strain the veg from the sauce, not to worry really, all under control. I did not have the asparagus.. but i cba removing the carrot from the sauce

Snacks: I got offered a choccy biccy but I said no..thank you

Summary: I need to do some shopping, I am allowed veggies tomorrow and I would really like to make a cottage pie topped with celeriac mash, hopefully the family will eat this without fuss.

Shopping list
celeriac - makes great coleslaw also, low fat feta if such a thing exists, oat bran, babybel light - were allowed these right??, smoked salmon, 1 whole trout.

Thursday 18 August 2011

Chicken Katsu Curry sans rice

Ingredients - serves 2

spray of oil
2 chicken escalopes or breasts
1 egg
3 tablespoons of oat bran
2 tsp curry powder
1 tsp chilli powder
0.5 ground corriander
1 garam masala
few sprigs of rosemary chopped

sauce
whole bulb of roasted garlic (it is sweet and you wont require any sugar in cooking), alternatively just use 3 cloves of chopped fresh garlic
carrots chopped into fine squares
half a white onion chopped finely
It would have been nice with a chopped stick of celery
3 cups of chicken stock
few twists black pepper
1 tsp of corn flour
1 spray oil
1 tsp turmeric
2 tsp curry powder
0.5 tsp chili powder

serve with some veg on a PV day, goes great with asparagus, spring onions, spinach, pickles whatever you fancy!

Step 1. add 2 tsp of the oatbran to the egg and whisk, add 1 tsp of curry powder and the rest of the herbs and spices and whisk.

step 2. dip the chicken in the egg mix, then spoon on the remaining oatbran with the other tsp of curry powder mixed in and black pepper.

step 3. spray a pan and fry the coated chicken

step 4. whilst you chicken is frying spray a small non stick skillet and fry up some onions until starting to soften, then add the cubed carrot and celery if you desire.

step 4. add the spices and the corn flour, mix until incorporated with the veg,

step 5. add the chicken stock and leave to simmer until thickens, you can strain this but i decided to leave the carrot in, less hassle really.

Day 13 - PV -And the GYM

yesterdays weight: 74.6kg lbs

Todays Weight: 74.6kg lbs the scales were switching from 74.3 - 74.6, thought id go for the higher one in case, as i could not bear a gain tomorrow

Breakfast: naughty I know, oatbran porridge with 1% fat milk mixed with 1/2 tsp cocoa powder

Lunch: I went to a sanwich shop and got a salad box with greek salad, beetroot, onion, a boiled egg, lettuce, peppers and tomatoe..the bad bits were the feta which were few and far between and the olives had about 3 olive halves, and put some low fat cottage cheese and roast chicken on, it was delish and very filling, didnt neet to eat again until 7. I also got a 45 minute work out in and burnt 500 cals on the stepper, cross trainer and treadmill - and I did some weights too! :-)

Dinner: I feel terribly guilty because this tasted so so good but looking at it I really cant see it being awful. I make chicken Katsu curry and served it with asparagus which had got to be one of my favorite veggies! I will post the recipe, its very similar to the chicken schnitzel but with a sauce and I have added different herbs and spices to the batter and oatbran. any how I had one chicken escalope breast piece a serving of sauce which was made with carrots and onions fried in a spray of oil and used a tsp of cornflour. the recipe makes two, I still have a portion of chicken and sauce and asparagus left for tomorrows dinner, which will be useful if I get to the gym again.

Snacks:

Summary: I feel bad about a few tiny pieces of feta, a.5 olives and about 4 sprays of olive oil and Im just hoping that my workout has made up for those things.
I feel great however that I have returned to the gym, I was going very regularly and then went on holiday, after that I got a sinus infection, followed by an ear infection, a huge mouth ulcer and another ear infection so I have enless excuses not to go. If i'm not going now that is just pure laziness, its so difficult getting back into a routine.

Wednesday 17 August 2011

2 cups of skim milk

3. Whisk the eggs and the milk, add the fried mixture to the bottom of an over dish then pour on the egg mixture

4. Bake in the oven at approx 180c for 20-25 minutes

5. remove from oven and Voila!!

Day 12 - Day 2 'Cruise' PP

yesterdays weight: 74.7kg lbs

Todays Weight: 74.6kg lbs back to where i was the other day but it is a loss i guess in the grand scheme of things thats okay in my books!

Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with 2 slices extra lean corned beef

Lunch: 4 slices lean sliced ham and a pot of passionfruit mousse, this had a weird funny taste and i could not for the life of me fathom what it could possibly be - however I did notice it had rice flour in and was loaded with carbs..wrong move to check the labels after consumption!

Dinner: 2 venison burgers, i really like them but they do leave me with a slightly oily mouth which is odd because looking at the label they arent loaded with fat like a lot of other burgers on the market. I had some spring onion and a chopped gherkin to garnish, were allowed to use these things for seasoning right..just happens that the seasoning looked remarkably like a salad.

Snacks: 3 pieces beef jerky. small pieces they do remind me of doggy treats.

Summary: All in all not a bad day, was in a meeting most of the afternoon so I did not have chance to snack which is always good, productive and not snacking..go me!

feeling super organised as I have already made my quiche for lunch tomorrow. recipe and pictures to follow

Tuesday 16 August 2011

Day 11 - Day 1 of 'Cruise' PV

yesterdays weight: 74.9kg lbs

Todays Weight: 74.7kg lbs

Breakfast: 2 egg omelette with 2 slices garlic sausage in and a laughing cow light

Lunch: peach activia yogurt, a pack sliced chicken, 1 100g pack of mini hotdogs..very naughty much more fat than chicken.

Dinner: Dukan oatbran chicken schnitzel, even more delicious today and accompanied by some spinach, asparagus and a salad of tomato and spring onion - easily the best meal I have had in 11 days!

Snacks: 1 chocolate drop, someone kindly offered me one and before I knew it it was in my mouth..Oops and a less than 5% fat chocolate mousse

Summary: Bit of a naughty day really. I wont be upset if I have gained a pound tomorrow, any more however and I shall be outraged, Ha ha! I am dreaming of all of my favorite foods and thinking up recipes, Katsu curry.. I need a dukan version of this and with the schnitzel recipe and the cauliflower rice I may be onto a winner! Spaghetti bolognaise, I am thinking of purchasing a spiraliser so I can make courgette, carrot and squash pasta which sounds promising too. looking to the future and hopefully a further couple of pounds loss!

Here is a picture of the chicken schnitzel from tonight and last night

Monday 15 August 2011

Dukan - PP - Chicken Schnitzel Recipe

Here is a more interesting use of oatbran - I have pretty much been sticking to porridge

You will need

Chicken escalopes - i used 2, or breasts you have cut in half and beaten up slightly to thin them out.
pinch of salt, 1/2 tsp of garlic powder, onion salt, pinch chilli powder, few twists of black pepper 1 tsp of dried oregano, parsely rosemary and thyme. I also used a tablespoon of lemon juice and 1/2 tsp lemon zest
1 egg or 2 egg whites if you have high cholesterol
1.5 tbsps of oat bran
few sprays of oil in a hot pan

1. So I started off whisking the egg with a balloon whisk and adding the seasoning along with 2 tsps of the oatbran

2. Then dip the chicken slices into the eggy mix and lay on a plate

3. evenly sprinkle the oats onto the eggy chicken with a spoon, turn over and repeat on the other side.

4. these require 15-20 minutes frying time depending on the thickness of the chicken maybe more.

5. heat a little oil in a pan, i use a sray pump and have used just under half a tsp at a guess, I am going to attempt baking these tomorrow but I am unsure how that will fare.

6. Once the oil is hot add the oatbran covered chicken to the pan, be careful not to let this stick and also not to scrape the coating off when turning the chicken, I used a pair of cooking tongs

7. Enjoy!

Day 10 of 'Attack' Dukan

yesterdays weight: 74.6kg lbs

Todays Weight: 74.9kg lbs

Breakfast: 1 low fat gluten free sausage & oatbran porridge with a little pouring yogurt - due to my gain today I have decided to leave the agave nectar out for a few days and use only for emergencies.. i guess that kind of slip up is better than a full blown peice of cheesecake etc.

Lunch: 4 chicken legs with skin off, I was trying desperately not to get the orange coloured cajun spice on my face as I thought it not a good look for the office and for my induction to my new job role, not the impression I would go out of my way to give.

Dinner: 2 chicken escalopes I made chicken schnitzel with oatbran it was lovely!! I will post the recipe!! I did use less than half a tsp oil to fry them but could do it with spray oil, I will try baking tomorrow and do a comparisson.

Snacks: 1 low fat strawberry yogurt, half a pack of chicken slices and 2 slices of garlic sausage from m & s, naughty but i looked and it is relatively low in cals and its a childhood favorite.

Summary: I could have done better today, I will try harder tomorrow, especially if I am faced with another gain. I would love to be one of those people who can weigh once a week but I would be wondering and possibly go a little more off track than I can, hopefully keeping a close eye will keep me in check..thats my excuse and i'm sticking to it.

I am excited about vegetables tomorrow!!! salad here i come!

Sunday 14 August 2011

Day 9 of Dukan - PP

yesterdays weight: 74.9kg lbs

Todays Weight: 74.6kg lbs

Breakfast: Lunch: 2 low carb gluten free sausages cooked on the george foreman grill with 1 slice of fat off bacon and 1 venison burger 1 tbsp ketchup low sugar/salt variety

Dinner: 1 piece poached salmon which I blended with low fat cream cheese 1/2 tsp tomato puree and lemon juice and wrapped in smoked salmon, this had a vile texture so I couldnt eat it all, and I was rather naughty indulging in 3 gherkins. I also was making flapjacks for my dad to take to work and ended up eating a small piece of apricot and a pinch of the mixture so bad but soo good.

Snacks: 3 tablespoons of low fat cottage cheese with some chopped onion to flavour and 1 slice of ham with a low fat laughing cow triangle.

Summary: I really think I am going to look at the scales and see a gain which is a pain because I have been so good for so long..just slipped up a little today.

Saturday 13 August 2011

Recipe for stewed rhubarb

Right on this dukan diet you are allowed one fruit for the first initial phases, RHUBARB, what a lifesaver and a delicious ingrendient! I am sure not everyone is a fan as it does have a tendency to be rather bitter.

In my recipe I am not using any regular sugar, I am chopping up the rhubarb that I have which was approx 250g, adding a small amount of diet doctor pepper about half a cupfull will do. and 3 tablespoons of agave syrup and a few drops of rose water.

There are so many different brands of the above mentioned and they can be purchased in a few stores, they are perhaps not the most common of products, but you can always check them out on the links below so you know what you are looking for.

Day 8 dukan PP

Lunch: big breakfast was had!

Dinner: 2 venison and onion burgers from m&s, very nice with a heaped tbsp of low fat cottage cheese, 1 tbsp ketchup and 1 laughing cow light

Snacks: oatbran porridge with stewed rhubarb

Summary:
yesterdays weight: 75.4kg lbs
Todays Weight: 75.2kg 165.4lbs

Breakfast: oatbran porridge with a little agave syrup, breakfast order at work, scrambled egg and 2 slices of bacon with fat off

Lunch:3 chicken kebabs dipped in a little heinz low sugar and salt ketchup, they literally stunk the office out.. wont be taking them to work again!

Dinner:really bored of beef so I had a little of the mince from yesterday and 2 low fat gluten free sausages fried in a spray of oil.

Snacks: low fat chocolate mousse, less than 5% fat

Summary: I am feeling quite satisfied today (maybe because I am full of food from day 5 onwards), not a huge amount of weight loss but again its in the direction. I have not been to the toilet since day 5 and even then it wasnt anything to write home about..sorry for posting that here but it has to be said, high protein and low fibre = constipation! I am going to have to get some herbal remedy on the go to help me go if this persists!

Day 6 of 'Attack Phase' Dukan

yesterdays weight: 75.6kg lbs
Todays Weight: 75.4kg lbs

Breakfast: oat bran porridge with a little agave syrup and 1% fat milk

Lunch: 2 mini quiches made with serano ham and filled with bacon a whisked egg and etra light cream cheese, yogurt and I have had a packet of sliced chicken

Dinner: beef mince cooked with onion and bacon and tomato puree and a stock cube to make a bolognaise sauce, lots of seasoning

Snacks: raspberry flavour yogurt, gerkin x 1,

Summary: so todays been okay, not a huge loss but a loss not the less. I havent done too much excerise just walking to start with and when i fully introdue veg then I will get back to the gym, hopefully  I will have a tad more energy. my mum is encouraging me to do the full 10 days attack phase but i feel that a week is probably sufficient, not sure, i guess ill see if it stays this easy and I may consider it.

Day Five of ‘Attack phase’

yesterdays weight: 76.3kg 167.9lbs
Todays Weight: 75.6kg 166.3lbs

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs with ham and a cup of tea with 1% fat milk

Lunch:grilled chicken mixed with low fat yogurt and spices and a low fat vanilla yogurt

Dinner:2 pieces undyed smoked haddock seasoned with lemon and parsely

Snacks:

Summary: I am getting into the swing of things now, finally lost a little more getting me to my mini target almost..fingers crossed for tomorrow! I am finding that this diet works better if you enjoy cooking, which I do! I have made some little quiches using serrano ham in a muffin tin, mixing egg with bacon and low fat cream cheese and voila! - inspiration taken from flicking through plently of cooking magazines, I just cant stop buying them, only now I can probably eat about 10% of whats published in there - the rest needs adapting and theres a lot of explorative fun to be had there!

Day Four of ‘Attack phase’

yesterdays weight: 76.3kg 167.86lbs
Todays Weight: 76.3kg 167.86lbs no LOSS no GAIN

I am slightly disappointed that I havent lost any weight today, especially if i think about how many calories i am actually consuming. I will wait till my lady time is over and not get discouraged until then! I am thinkning of just eating protein until sunday to see how that fares.

Breakfast: 2boiled eggs wrapped in ham

Lunch: Chicken legs in cajun seasoning, I have removed the skin after cooking. peach yogurt

Dinner: 2 very rare and very chewy beef steaks, oh my god! This is must how the models eat, chew chew spit..

Snacks: 1.5 tbsps of oatbran with 1% fat milk and a little agave syrup to sweeten, and a couple of no sugar coffees

Summary: So overall I am not impressed with the weight loss on a whole. I am hoping for a miracle tomorrow or atleast a loss of some description. I want to get to 75kg and fast, I havent seen that figure since march and I dont think its too unrealistic a goal..seriously?
I have had a read over the book (I ordered the downloadable version last night) and there is a lot of emphasis on water consumption so today I am making a consious effort to drink more water atleast 2L

Day Three - Also first day at my new job :-)

yesterdays weight: 76.5kg 168.3lbs
Todays Weight: 76.3kg 167.8lbs
todays loss:0.2kg 0.4lbs
total loss:0.7kg 1.5lbs

Breakfast:2 boiled eggs with 2 tsp low fat yogurt and pinch of cress and seasoning and a peach low fat activia

Lunch: 2 chicken legs and 3 slices of ham which I had to pretty much fight a seagull for, another peach yogurt.. I am feeling very hungry/greedy today.

Dinner: 2 burgers made by my own fair hands and a slice of lean bacon inbetween with a small amount of ketchup.

Snacks: 1.5 tablespoons on oatbran with a dash of 1% fat milk made to porridge with some agave nectar.

I may even have another yogurt later, I honestly don’t know what is wrong with me I am not all that hungry and I have never craved sweet so much. It is that time of the month, which im guessing may be why i havent really lost anything as i am rather bloated and possibly retaining some water, but this is just bizare - I normally am not a fan of sugar.

Summary: Day 1 of my new job went well, not stressful at all and wasnt worth losing last nights sleep over! however I did sit at the desk with my stomach growling for most of the day, I have got to say so far today is the hungriest I have been on this diet (I guess it is only day 2 really..)
exercise : 20 minutes walk to work

Day Two summary - Dukan attack, first official day!

So, I have taken my Dukan diet seriously today.
I have got to say at first I was a little skeptical and it is still a little too early to change my mind completely but I am starting to think this just might work for me.
I have eaten pure protein today with the exception of minimal low fat dairy products (less than 5% fat) I have not felt hungry at all. I have eaten sensible portion sizes and I can honestly say I haven’t been going to bed hungry which is a first for me!
I am feeling very inspired and im really enjoying the food I have consumed, who says dieting means compromise on flavour?
todays exercise: 40 minutes walk

Dukan challenge - Day 2 sort of..

Yesterdays weight: 77kilograms - 169lbs
Todays Weight: 76.5kilograms - 168lbs

So, day 2 has arrived.
I have been shopping yesterday, and pretty much finished the food I had to use up. I told myself that I am starting this diet officially on monday, but perhaps that is wrong. perhaps I should put this off any longer than necessary. I feel motivated now and feel ready to start today. Lets get this show on the road!

Breakfast: Lunch: woke up rather late, somewhere inbetweet breakfast and lunch: salmon and extra light cream cheese and chive omelette -tastes beautiful!

Dinner: Roast chicken has gone in the oven ready for tonight, I have covered it in garlic, lemon, sumac, thyme and sesame seeds  - can’t wait! (it was yummy indeed! I served it with low fat yogurt which I mixed with lemon garlic and mint and onion to season!)

Snacks: low fat peach activia

So I have been on track today and I am thrilled with that. I have even bought a new dress for my first day of my new job tomorrow, excited. I do work in an office, so I am aware that I spend a lot of time sitting on my bottom, fortunately I have a gym membership and I shall try and get down a few times a week to boost my weight loss! I want to be a little slimmer for september 14th.

I have been organised… I love lists and forward planning ;-) oh dear..
I have decided my breakfast tomorrow is going to be egg mayo - with low fat yogurt instead of mayo.

Lunch I have packed a chicken leg into some tupperware to take to work and if I get hungry then I guess I will have to get some sliced meat.
And for my dinner I have prepared burgers, made with extra lean beef mince, 1 egg to bind, 1 shallot and chili powder to give a kick. Roll on more weight loss!!

Getting into the Dukan mindset

Weight on 6th August 2011 = 77kg 169.40 lbs (sort of day 1)

I have decided, something definately needs to change. Looking back at photos I feel rather distgusted that I have let myself get to this point.

I have decided to give the Dukan diet a go, it sounds crazy really but lets see if it gives the results as promised.

So.. the initial phase of this diet is the attack phase, I have checked the website which recommends that someone of my weight does the attack phase for 4-5 days, I best go for 5.
No vegetables, I will miss them but alteast they can be introduced after the attack phase. No Carbs, I have given up wheat recently which has limited my carb intake so hopefully I should not find this part too taxing.
5 days with only lean proteins and less than 5% fat dairy. Bring it on!
Well, today is not my 1st official day, I need to eat what I have in the fridge but I am making a consious effort to implement some of the needed changes. I need to go shopping for the ingredients for the next weeks attack phase.

 SHOPPING LIST

Lean beef mince, bacon, chicken, smoked salmon, tuna steak - I can deal with that, I do feel the 72 allowed foods is rather restrictive but for 5 days and the weight loss promise I shall see if it is worth it!
Food diary
Breakfast/lunch : 2 egg omelette with cured meat and a coffee without sugar. 1 chicken leg
Dinner: 2 small tuna steaks with a soy and chili glaze, yellow capsicum pepper (I shouldn’t have really but just using up whats left - I officially start on monday)
snacks: 1 small piece wheatfree orange cake made with almonds and eggs and a spoonful of cream fraiche & a low fat yogurt (naughty again, I will have no slip ups tomorrow - fingers crossed!)

I have been using an online diet blog Buddyslim.com which is a huge help and provides tools and support necessary for weight loss!

SUMMARY

Okay so granted I haven’t been that well behaved today, I am learning adapting in preparation to taking this diet plan seriously. I have been shopping and looking into what I’ve bought its a lot of my favorite things. I will miss having vegetables to accompany them though, The attack phase is to be done between 2 and 10 days, I am thinking 5 days and maybe a few more if I can stand it, no promises yet. I need to make small goals as unrealistic goals always tend to fail! In the next fortnight I would like to lose 4kg, I will be laughing.. and hopefully not at myself in the mirror. I want to fit in my jeans, surely every woman carrying a little extra weight has some item of clothing that they currently have no chance of fitting into? Perhaps not..
Anyhow I have bought, baconm smoked salmon, prawns, steak, mince (mmm meatballs) and tuna steaks - All in all i’d say this is an expensive diet but if it works, then its worth it, and they are all things I thoroughly enjoy eating.
I am already excited for tomorrows brunch, I am planning a smoked salmon and extra light cream cheese omelette with chives :-) I only wish I didn’t love food so much!
